The Innovations in Publishing Research Hub develops knowledge and new understanding of current developments and opportunities for change specifically applied to activities of the publishing industry. Formerly known as the Creative Industries Management Research Hub (CIMRH), we rebranded to the Innovation in Publishing Research Hub (IPRH) to better reflect our focus on the publishing sector.

We seek to apply a critical and multidisciplinary lens to the way the industry is adapting to challenges and potentials of innovation in all segments of the publishing landscape.

We explore:

  • The intersections of digital innovation, collaborative practices, and business models in publishing.
  • The evolution of digital networks within the publishing ecosystem, exploring the impact of various platforms such as social media on industry dynamics.
  • The impact of digital innovation in design and production, examining how technological advancements enhance creativity, sustainability, and accessibility.
  • Social issues such as decoloniality, diversity, and inclusivity that can foster a more equitable publishing landscape.
